The Parent Organization of The Sisulu-Walker Charter School of Harlem is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to promote, communication, and understanding among parents, students, staff, and faculty, and to support the work of the school. The Parent Organization is a vibrant, integral part of the Sisulu-Walker community, sponsoring various activities, special events, and fundraising efforts which greatly enhance the educational experience for all students at Sisulu-Walker.

The goals and objectives of this organization are:

1.      To support, promote and develop those policies and programs which provide the optimal educational environment for all students at Sisulu-Walker, and to raise funds through donations, contributions, grants, sponsorship of school events or other means, as may be deemed necessary, to implement those policies and programs.

2.      To promote interest, knowledge and active participation by the parents in the education of their children.

3.      To promote and develop an interactive relationship between Sisulu-Walker and its community.

4.      To provide opportunities for and encourage parents of students at Sisulu-Walker to participate in school governance and educational decision-making.

All parents are warmly invited to attend Parent Organization meetings and events to become involved in the life of the school.
