School Supply Checklist

Every August the stores, television commercials and newspaper advertisements remind us all it's time to start getting ready for Back-to-School. Often what is attractive to children may be expensive and not necessarily needed at school. Please refer to the SWCSH 2018-2019 School Supply List and purchase only the supplies your child will need at the start of the school year.

Join Us Tuesday, October 13th for our Reading by the Campfire Literacy Night

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Sisulu-Walker Charter School of Harlem will host a Reading by the Campfire themed Literacy Night for families on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 5:00pm- 6:00pm. The purpose of the event is to reinforce our Literacy is Everything and Everywhere mantra and our belief that “Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.” Each citizen that attends the events will receive a free book to read with you and a gift box with treats. We will also serve light refreshments. The agenda for the night is below.

  • Parents will meet with teachers by grade level to learn practical strategies for reinforcing literacy skills at home.
  • Citizens will play literacy games in Embassy Hall.

  • Parents will join citizens in Embassy Hall for book distribution and reading.
  • Refreshments will be served and gift boxes will be distributed.

As integral members of our Jamii (Community), we cannot close the achievement gap without your input and assistance! We hope to see you at Literacy Night. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and support!
